Finlay Kettlewell

" I’m Finlay Kettlewell.

Growing up in the home town of Sir Donald Bradman has given me a real love of the cricket and that Bradman spirit of hard work, determination and always striving to get better. I train consistently all year round. I’m always learning and looking for ways to improve and push myself further.

My Playing & Coaching Approach

Cricket should be fun, challenging and rewarding. I focus on strong fundamentals, building confidence and helping players understand the game better.

During my time in Representative Cricket, the Youth Academy and First-Grade Environments, I’ve learned a lot that I can pass on to junior players. I can help them develop their skills, play with a positive approach and share the same love of cricket that I have.

In my own game, I try to play with a positive mindset – looking to score runs rather than focusing on not getting out. If I do get out, I use what I’ve learned to improve next time.
I have a strong interest in the mental side of cricket – visualisation, routines, self-talk/motivation and getting into a flow state.
